All Group Classes are conducted using our new safety protocols, including social distancing.

Puppy Classes

At All About My Dog, we teach The Lisa Rockland Method, a unique behavior-based curriculum you won’t find anywhere else. Our method addresses the real-life issues you and your dog may be having as well as “traditional” and fun obedience learning.

Some people just teach tricks. Some people just teach behavior. We teach both.

Each of our foundation classes offers instruction appropriate to your dog’s age, stage of development and individual needs and behaviors. We’ll certainly teach you Come When Called, Sit, Down, Stay, Leave It, and all the other common obedience commands— but our ultimate goal is to help you create a dog that you can live with peacefully and happily. We want you to have a friend who can be a part of your family and all the fun things you do together: soccer games, the ferry, family gatherings, picnics in the park, camping, pet-friendly stores…anything and everything as long as you’re together!

Our NEW SAFETY PROTOCOL must be followed for all classes:

  • Face masks are required for all staff and students.
  • 6 feet of physical distancing is required at all times — inside the facility and outside in the parking lot and on the pea stones. A max of two dogs may use the outside pea stone area at the same time.
  • Before class: Remain in your car until invited into class by your instructor.
  • Leave all your belongings in your car. No bags or personal items of any kind are allowed inside the facility. Pockets only. We offer cookie pouches for sale.
  • Bring to class: A 6-foot leash and yummy dog treats only. No long leashes, no long toys.
  • Entering class: At the start of class, your instructor will invite each dog/handler team into the facility one at a time.
  • On entering the facility, trainers will direct students to a designated training space. Please proceed to the farthest open training space. Designated spaces satisfy social distancing requirements.
  • Class sizes are now reduced to allow for proper social distancing, and only one handler per dog will be admitted.
  • Class runs for 45 minutes to ensure a thorough cleaning of common surfaces between classes.
  • No students are allowed in the facility during 15-minute cleaning intervals.
  • No dog-to-dog meets and greets are allowed before, during, or after class, inside the facility or outside. Unfortunately, no playtime.
  • Exiting class: At the end of class, your instructor will invite each dog/handler to exit the facility one at a time.
  • Required: Provide up-to-date medical records, including a negative fecal report stating “no parasites seen,” prior to your first class. (There are no refunds or make-ups for classes forfeited due to missing fecal records.) See our medical guidelines for more info.

START OFF RIGHT – Newcomers welcome!

Congratulations and welcome home to your newest furry family member! Start Off Right is designed to start you and your puppy off on the right paw with fun, positive training. We will learn the first stages of Loose Leash Walking, Come When Called, Leave It, and we will show you how to find “the off-switch” on your new pup! We’ll also learn plenty of “traditional” commands like Sit, Down, and Stay plus a host of fun tricks! Most importantly, we’ll answer your questions – whether it’s about crate training, house training, nutrition, exercise, preventing unwanted behaviors like chewing, biting, and jumping up, or anything else you raise in class. Class time will be set aside for socialization, which is incredibly important for a developing puppy. (Unavailable due to social distancing.)

For extra socialization opportunities and to learn more about dog language and appropriate play you can also sign up for one of our Doggie Playgroups – a great compliment to your regular training class. (Unavailable due to social distancing.)

Puppy 2: From 4 to 7 Months

ADOLESCENT BEHAVIOR – Newcomers welcome!

As puppies grow, they start testing the boundaries of what they’ve already learned. Often our students tell us, “He used to come when called, but he won’t anymore,” or “He’ll only give me back my sock for a treat.” If this is you, you’ve come to the right place! Adolescent Behavior will cover the second stages of Loose Leash Walking, Come When Called, rock-solid Leave It, real Stays, ways to improve your puppy’s focus, and the beginnings of working with your puppy from a distance—all with ever-increasing distractions and motivation, just like real-life. Class time will be set aside for socialization* and your questions whatever they may be. (*Unavailable due to social distancing.)

For extra socialization opportunities and to learn more about dog language and appropriate play you can also sign up for one of our Doggie Playgroups – a great compliment to your regular training class. (Unavailable due to social distancing.)

Puppy 3: From 7 to 9 Months*

ALMOST GROWN

Now your puppy is almost all grown up. Almost Grown means your dog has almost mastered Stays and Loose Leash Walking, and they’re ready for more advanced challenges like: early off-leash walking, long-distance commands, and Come When Called no matter what kind of enticing distractions we challenge them with! This is the developmental stage when inappropriate puppy behaviors start to cause trouble: humans and adult dogs expect Almost Grown dogs to act their ages! Class time will be set aside for socialization*, which is so important for a young dog learning to act appropriately, as well as to answer your questions. Puberty can be tough for a young dog – we know and we’re here to help! (*Unavailable due to social distancing.)

For extra socialization opportunities and to learn more about dog language and appropriate play you can also sign up for one of our Doggie Playgroups – a great compliment to your regular training class. (Unavailable due to social distancing.)

* Newcomers with puppies 7 months and older should start with Adult 1: Good Dog 101.
